Deepsolar Is Looking for an All-star Head of Software!
Deepsolar is an award-winning renewable energy startup that has developed an innovative, AI-powered SaaS solution to optimize solar plants. Our product is the intelligence layer for solar energy – decoding complex data into clear, actionable insights that unlock every kilowatt of solar performance.
We are looking for a hands-on manager, visionary software leader to own and scale Deepsolar’s software stack. The ideal candidate is a passionate technologist and team player, with strong execution skills and deep technical expertise. You will work closely with in-house and outsourced teams, leading software and data engineers to build high-performing, scalable systems that power the solar revolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Engineering Execution: Guide sprint planning, code reviews, and team rituals. Collaborate with product, devops, QA, and algorithm teams to deliver at scale with reliability.
- Own the Architecture: Define the standards across backend, frontend, cloud, and MLOps. Drive system design that scales with 10× data volume and business needs.
- Drive Business Impact: Align technology with company strategy. Partner with Product, Sales, and Finance on roadmap trade-offs, build-vs-buy decisions, and pricing architecture.
- Build & Inspire the Team: Attract, mentor, and retain top talent. Foster a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture.
- Push the Frontier: Lead innovation across PV analytics, including predictive degradation, weather-aware forecasting, real-time dashboards, and generative AI capabilities.
Required Experience:
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in software or data-intensive product development.
- 3+ years of experience as a team leader.
- Proven track record of building and shipping scalable cloud-based systems.
- Strong technical background in distributed systems, microservices, and data pipelines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English.

- Experience in energy-tech or IoT domains.
- Background in time-series analysis, machine learning, or NLP.
- Proven track record building full-cycle SaaS platforms.
